As I mentioned in my post about going gluten-free, I’ve been struggling with some weight and other systemic issues. Since the beginning of the year, I’ve made a concerted effort to get my weight and wellbeing back on track, from enlisting a personal trainer to dietary changes. But working out harder and/or eating less or differently wasn’t working.
Then, out of the blue, my friend Debbie asked me if I’d like to do the Whole30 with her. After checking into the program, Whole30 sounded like exactly what I needed since increased exercise and my current dietary routine, based on Weight Watchers, was no longer effective in maintaining my weight after almost 10 years. In addition, I'd developed regular digestive discomfort, which wasn't entirely alleviated by removing gluten, and almost chronic arthritic pain in my right index finger.
