1 T. (1 envelope) unflavored gelatin
1 c. sugar
2 c. buttermilk
1 egg, beaten
1/4 t. salt
4 c. whipping cream*
1 T. vanilla
2 cups mashed fresh peaches (about 3 to 4 medium-size peaches)
1/4 c. sugar
In a saucepan, combine gelatin, sugar, and buttermilk.
Dissolve gelatin and sugar over low heat, stir occasionally. Gradually add hot mixture to egg, stirring constantly. Stir in salt, cream and vanilla. Combine mashed peaches and sugar; add to mixture. Chill. Churn and freeze.
*May substitute 2 cups half-and-half for 2 cups whipping cream
