The classic Negroni is 1 part gin, 1 part vermouth and 1 part bitters. I like the following twist with its mix of vermouths. The gin (Rear Admiral Joseph's Original London Dry) has a very neutral essence; it doesn't pack a wallop of intense botanicals and so doesn't interfere with the tart bite of the bitters. Rear Admiral Joseph’s Original London Dry gin is the cheap and cheerful house brand at Trader Joe's. If you don't shop at Trader Joe's, Plymouth or Boodles make nice, neutral backdrops for this drink as well.

Fill martini glasses and a pitcher with
ice. Pour liquid ingredients over ice in pitcher and stir. Toss ice from
glasses. Pour. Savor. Have another. Savor. Then make some more!
For a lighter alternative, swap out both of the sweet, slightly viscous vermouths for sparkling water. With its refreshing fizz, it's the perfect libation on a warm summer day.
